American Airlines
« on: February 11, 2010, 03:27:08 PM »

I saw in the paper this morning that starting Feb 22, AA will be charging $50 to go standby.  On occasion, we have gotten to DFW and allowed too much time for the connection to OKC.  So, we would go standby on an earlier flight to OKC and seats would always be available.  Now they are going to charge $50 for that?????

I have one very big question.  How does Southwest Airlines make millions in profit and don't charge for every little thing they offer?  The big airlines need to take some notes.

Ten-four to THAT!  There are two airlines I wish would do the MSP-CUN run...Southwest and Mexicana.  (Non-stop, of course.)  They both seem to know how to keep the customer satisfied, from what I've heard, but neither one is an option.  Sun Country is pretty good, but their return-flight schedule is the pits.  Plus, like most of the others, they charge for everything they can.  Our March tickets were at least $150 higher than the fare and taxes, once everything else was included.  (Baggage, seat selection.)  But what alternative do I have from MSP?  Delta?????????????????  Not on your life.
