Got this from Mayr yesterday....sure she's still a little slow moving, but this is great news:

Dear friends and family,
Just wanted to leave a quick note to let everyone know that I got to come home yesterday from the hospital...6 days post-op!
Feeling a little rough around the edges but I'm home :)
As some of you may know my surgery was 12 hours long. Everything went extremely well and I was able to actually go to a room vs SICU post-op. They had me up and walking 3 x's a day the day after surgery...UGH!!!
Everyone says I look great but I feel like crap right now. Guess that's to be expected. I'm on a full liquid diet but no appetite. Something else that will gradually return.
The BEST news the Dr. gave me was a CANCER FREE pathology report!!!!! Music to my ears.
Words cannot express my gratitude for all the prayers, love and support from everyone. Please keep them coming as I start my recovery journey.
Blessings and love to all,

Mayr,

I haven't been on the board in a while and just learned of your surgery and all the problems you have been going through.  I am so sorry to hear about this.  The report from Tami sounds wonderful.  I will certainly keep you in my prayers for a speedy recovery.  God Bless.

Dear friends,
I'm so glad Tami shared my e-mail as I really haven't felt much like doing much on the computer.
Everyday is better and my appetite is coming back slowly.
I am so thankful for my wonderful Dr. who did an amazing job and the staff at The James for all their help in getting me home so quickly.
I thank God many times a day for His healing hands and the great support group of family and friends all of whom have helped me through my journey so far.
Continued prayers as I heal and get stronger everyday.
Love,
Mayr

I'm so happy for the successful surgery, Mayr!!!!!!!! Will definitely keep you in my prayers as you recover and heal. That's a job all in itself! Lots of hugs!

Wow! 12 hours??? That is an amazing surgical triumph! Than God for great doctors! If He didn't want them to have such great skills we would all be in trouble.

You will continue to be in my prayers. He's to a complete recovery!

Update :)
Greetings all,
I saw the Dr. for my post-op visit yesterday. He is very pleased with my progress. Everything is healing nicely.
He was able to remove one of the drains called "stents". In 2 weeks he will x-ray my new "pouch" to see how it is healing and remove another drain. At that point if all is well I may begin draining the urine myself (catherization).
All of this is very good news...
I am also allowed to eat whatever I am hungry for :)
Thanks for all your love, prayers and support!!!!
Love,
Mayr

More great news Very Happy
Went to the Dr's on Tuesday. He x-ray'd my "pouch" and it has healed! Again he is very pleased with my progress.
He had me return today to remove the last tube...WhooooHoooo and teach me how to catherize myself. All went very well and although it currently is every 2 hours it is going smoothly. I have re-gained a little bit of freedom which is wonderful!
Thanks for all your prayers and support. Have a great weekend!
Love,
Mayr
