Delta Raises Baggage Fees, Continental Matches
Published on: January 13, 2010

Delta Air Lines has raised its baggage fees for travelers checking bags in advance on the airline’s website. The fee for the first bag is now $23 while the fee for the second is now $32. The fee for checking bags at the airport at a counter or kiosk is $25 for the first bag and $34 for the second. At press time, Continental was the only carrier to match Delta's fee increase.

The new fees go into effect Jan. 12 if travelers bought their tickets on or after Jan. 5. Travelers who bought their tickets before that will pay the old fee $15 for the first bag and $25 for the second. The fee increases apply to travel in economy class for travel in the 50 U.S. states, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. For more information on all Delta baggage fees, visit www.delta.com/traveling_checkin/baggage/baggage_allowance/index.jsp#checked.

I'm glad that the first checked bag is still free for travel to MX.  I wonder how long that'll last.  Confused

Don't remind them. Laughing

I think the resorts need to take note of the fee for bags and drop the Formal Wear requirement for the resturants.  That only adds weight to the bags and means packing more stuff.

I like the senario that while at the resort if you have on underware  Embarassed  you are formally dressed.  Shorts, shirt and sandals.  Some places even want closed toed shoes.  Give me a break!!
