THANKS VERY MUCH FOR THE PRAYERS!!!

I just got home and feel better but the injection sight over the femoral artery is bruised and very sore.  Yes Dr. Dave I have been taken off work for one month and I cannot lift anything over 2lbs for the next week.  My cardiologist said I was lucky to have survived this one.

The old stent was over 90% reoccluded and the scarring and plaque build up was far worse than before (11/2001).  Because of the blood thinners my cardiologist wants me to be reassigned out of the field because if I get hurt and start to bleed I could bleed out before help arrives.

That bruise can be nasty!  Shocked 2 Lbs sounds good to me! Wow!!!! A month off??? This really must have been a scare.

Questions... What kind of stent was it that blocked up? Was the blockage actually in the stent, or right in front or behind it? Plavix???

One more thing -- NO DRIVING!!!! If he is saying 2 pounds then I say no driving for 2 weeks! That's and order from the MBB heart doctor!

If you need, or want, a great doctor to look over your results come spend some time down here and I'll get you in with Kowlaski. I'm sure you are in good hands but I love my guy and would trust him to see any member of my family or anyone whom I care about. Sounds like a good excuse to come down to Cajun Country to me!!!

Dave it was a standard metal stent.  The new one is twice as long and is a drug eluting stent so it is coated to hopefully prevent further blockage.  The blockage was in the stent and a bit above and below it.

I will now be on Plavix from now on.  Appreciate the invite, I really love being in Cajun Country.

I had my first post cardiac cath appointment yesterday afternoon.  So far so good.  Still a bit sore from the injection/incision but otherwise getting better.  I was afraid of the dietary changes I was going to make, however there are SOO many heart healthy things I like and can keep eating.  I just have to watch how it is prepared and what is added in.

Butter is a big no-no.  But sushi/sashimi is recommended in moderation.  Protion size control is one area that is going to be a but tough to overcome but I gotta do it.

Thanks soo much for all your prayers to date.

Happy to hear you are doing good and can find something that you like to eat. Keep working on the portion control.
