Topic: New member of our family. (Read 407 times)

Today we added a new member to our family. Her name is Diiana and she is from Guatemala. She will be living with us, and attending school with Heather, until mid-December. She is from Guatemala City which had about 2.5 million people. That is drastically different from Lafayette, Louisiana which has a population of about 110,000 people. She is here to learn about our culture, and to share in an environment that is different from her own.
She has only been with us for about 4 hours and I can tell you that she likes Canadian bacon pizza with pineapples, she seems to be very low maintenance, and is very quiet. I know that we are going to enjoy sharing our lives with her, I just hope she enjoys being with us.
Keep Diiana in your prayers. I can't imagine what it must be like to be 15-years-old and be away from home for 8 weeks in a foreign country. We want this to be a wonderful experience for her, and for Heather, so we need your prayers to help her enjoy herself, and not miss her family and friends to much while she is here.

I love her taste in pizza. :) I'm sure she will have a very memorable time wIth your family. I get the feeling your house is filled with lots of love. Let us know how it goes.
