I know you've made your decision Chris.... but just wanted to add my .02 re: Grand Sirenis Beach.... I LOVED IT!~
The most scenic and interesting beach I've been to!! I loved all of the coves, the abundant fish for snorkeling, the large rocks to explore. Just Gorgeous IMHO....

I have found that some people book White Sand or Riviera as they are "newer". That said, the resort does use down time to update rooms. I loved the Mayan suites on the Kantenah beach and we also had a Mayan suite on Colonial when we needed to be more central. Some of the White Sand and Riviera rooms have great views. The Royal area is very Royal, not on the beach but has a designated area on Kantenah beach.
