Pray for Chris #2 in MN
« on: August 13, 2008, 08:14:54 PM »

Many of you know Chris #2 and many of you may not.  He joined my parents and I to PF '04 and PF '05.  I gave him a call on Saturday night and instead of him answering, his girlfriend Anna did.  This was because Chris was in the hospital in Detroit Lakes, MN.  He was at We Fest, which is a HUGE country music festival in northern Minnesota.  What happened was he was playing football around his camp site and fell down and his leg got twisted underneath him and he was at the hospital to get x-rays which came out negative.  The doctor did, however, tell him to go get an MRI if it was still bothering him in a few days.

He just informed me today of his MRI results and he as a torn anterior cruciate ligament(ACL) and torn medial meniscus cartilage in one of his knees (not sure which, he didn't tell me).  He is still trying to figure out when he is going to have surgery to repair the damage.  He's hoping before school starts, or else he'll have to wait until semester break and then he won't be able to go on his family vacation to Mexico that his parents are thinking about doing.  I just ask that you all keep him in his prayers to mainly heal from this injury and also to get an expedient surgery so he can recover and be back to normal as soon as possible.

Thought and prayers for Chris #2 (I do remember meeting him at PF04 and 05).

I can totally sympathize with the medial meniscus issue having had that problem myself years ago.  Tell him to try and do the surgery as soon as possible.  I saw my surgeon on a Thu AM and on Fri I was in the hospital.

My grandson just did the same thing only he wrecked in a dirt bike race and he wears all the equipment that is required. Tore ACL and meniscus. He's doing very good now but it is rather a long recovery. He's in college too but will be able to go back when they start. He did it about 6 weeks ago. He had to wait till the swelling went down before he could have the surgery. He's also in physical therapy too.
I certainly wish your friend the best.

UPDATE: Chris #2 sent me a text last night...  He is doing alot better and back in Duluth, MN working behind a desk. He has a consultation on the 29th so let's keep our fingers  and toes crossed that he gets good news, and if not, that the doctors will get him back to normal and new again real soon.

Edg, when you read this, KNOW that Bob and I are keeping you in our daily thoughts and prayers dude.

Luv and HUGE huggers,

Chris #2, otherwise known as Edg, was at the house last night for a steak dinner with Chris #1 (my Marine man) and is doing pretty good. He is in a brace and WILL have to have surgery, however not sure just when that will happen.

He was telling us what they will be doing... OUCH! Recovery time will be around six months.

Please continue to keep this fine young man in your thoughts and prayers as he gets closer to surgery and recovery.
